The Spanish-Kit Vocabulary Tool is a distributive tool.
This means that anyone can create new vocabulary courses which others
can then subscribe to on the course page. Creating a vocabulary
course is a great way to both help promote the learning of Spanish and show your support for Spanish-Kit.
A few quick notes about creating vocabulary course:
- lists must come from public domain books - absolutely no vocabulary
taken from copyright material may be used
- lists must be at least 50 words or more and contain Spanish word, and English translation
- All words must be approved by other Vocabulary Editors before
learners can subscribe to the course. More
about vocabulary approval process.
- currently only Spanish courses may be created

How Vocabulary Words Are Approved
Recall that this is a distributive project. No one person has the
time or energy to review all vocabulary words in order to ensure
that they are error free. It's obviously critical that all words
are correct and yet this is a human process and mistakes do happen.
Our solution is an approval system where other Vocabulary Editors
must review and approve your vocabulary entry before the word is
made live to site learners.
The approval process works like this. When a vocabulary word is
entered into the database, the entering Editor's confidence score
is given to the word. A Vocabulary Editor's confidence scores may
range from 1 to 35. The confidence score is set by the Spanish-Kit Administrator
and it is based upon our understanding of the Editor's skill level
and error history.
In order for a word to run live on the site, other Vocabulary Editors
must approve your word. When another Vocabulary Editor approves
your word his or her score is added to the word's current confidence
score. The word will not show live until a score of 100 is reach.
It will take a minimum of 3 Vocabulary Editors to approve any single
word.
So we need Vocabulary Editors to both create courses and review
and approve words. Support Spanish-Kit today by requesting
an editor account!
